Day 6 - March 10 - Spring Training

IOur time here is almost done...early to bed tonight so we can get to the airport early and ready to board the plane back home.  I hope everyone in Iowa enjoyed those days of warm weather we sent over, it was our gift to you!

Our gracious hosts took us a little further north to show us some different terrain and we drove through the Boulders Restort by Waldorf Estoria!  Here is or visitor pass.

The rock formations there are totally awesome and the landscaping around the homes and resort and golf course are great as well.

Above a shot of the boulders and below a shot of one of the tee boxes that my ball would never land on the fairway from.

Joe wants to come back and play a round of golf sometime, I told him that was fine as long as he was paying for it!

We then stopped in Cave Creek to check out some touristy gift shops.  They weren't quite open yet so we messed around in the old west themed decorations.  Here is am and pa kettle.

Here was the advertisement that caught me that fine dame.

And here I am grieving for the loss of a loved one.

Before we left Joe found a sign after his own heart.

After slipping in and out of a few shops we headed back to Goodyear for a final game.  We made it before the players which game Joe one last chance to stand in line to get autographs along the first base line.  Here is the typical line up for autographs.

While no balls today it was still a very successful day for him with autographs from Nick Swisher and Justin Masterson.  Joe was really hoping for a Swisher autograph all week.  We also got pictures.

Here is Joe with Masterson the Indians opening day pitcher.

Nick Swisher was full of energy today and it shows in the picture with Joe!

Former Indian and now coach Charles Nagy also stopped by and signed for a few fans.  Here is a picture of him signing.

Today was the first day of instant replay at Goodyear, it wasn't used in the game but the umpires were discussing it before the game.

We got a final shot of rush hour on the way home from the first Indians loss since the first game of Spring and are back at the Moore's packing getting ready to leave early.

One final photo of the Indians on the field in Goodyear!   We can't wait to get back and see Melanie and Ben!
